Don’t forget to bring your cameras to our Mad about Minibeast event at the Country Park on Sunday June 30th 2019 from 11am to 4pm. This fabulous Comma Butterfly was seen on the entrance to the open grassland of the Country Park and it was happily basking in the sun on a dead hogweed stem.
We will be looking for butterflies during our Mad about Minibeasts day, so fingers crossed the weather is good and we are able see lots and lots of minibeasts!
We have been working hard to remove the tree guards from the new tree belt planted on the west side of the country park. The trees and shrubs had grown through the mesh and growth was being hampered. Many had to be cut off. The guards also had to be transported back to the storage yard. It has taken us four sessions to complete but we finished last Sunday. Now we can look after the plants and hope that the new belt gradually matures.
